Forever Young

Forever Young

It happens to the best of us: our age is telling us that we are supposed to be adults, but we certainly don’t want to dress that way. Unfortunately, some women get a little too carried away with the idea of looking young and end up wearing clothes that are inappropriate for their age. What’s a girl to do? Do we need to resort to knitted twin sets? Certainly not! There is no need to venture to the ‘Mature Ladies’ section just yet. Many women look to the younger fashion because of its bright colors, fun designs and flirty fit. That same style can be accomplished by wearing classic pieces, coordinated with fun accessories. As we get older it is vital that body type, shape and skin tone are taken into account. Go through each item you have in your wardrobe. Get rid of anything that does not fit well and don’t look back. As a general rule of thumb, any clothing that you have to keep adjusting or rides up whilst you are doing your normal daily tasks need to go. Keep pieces that are timeless like a black pencil skirt, make it in to a new outfit by pairing it with a fitted white V-neck t-shirt, statement shoes and chunky jewellery for a funky new outfit. Same goes for that little black dress that you keep at the back of the wardrobe for a ‘special occasion’ but haven’t actually worn yet. Dresses are very underrated, but they are so versatile and easy to wear. a simple black dress with statement jewellery teamed with a bright mac (pictured is from ISME.com @ £40) and ballet pumps create a very ‘Audrey Hepburn’ look for the spring. Don’t forget the large sunglasses  to add instant style to any outfit …

Do you look old? No, you look like the hot, fierce woman you are.
